iPhone 5 is a Smart phone Designed and marketed by Apple
inc. that announced on September 12, 2012, and released on September 21, 2012.
The iPhone 5 is the first Apple device to ship with iOS 6, which introduced a revamped
visual appearance and other new features. iOS 6 departed from
skeuomorphic elements used by previous versions of iOS in favor of a flat,
colorful design. Among new software features introduced to the iPhone.
5 are Airdrop, an ad-hoc Wi-Fi sharing
platform; Control Center, a control panel containing a number of commonly used
functions, and iTune
Radio, an internet
radio service. Earphones known as Ear Pods were included with the 5, and
Apple released accessories including a case and a dock.
5 contain the Apple A6 32-bit dual core system on chip, the first 1.3 GHz 32-bit processor to be used on a smart phone, accompanied by the M7 "motion co-processor". A redesigned home button with Touch ID, a fingerprint recognition system which can be used to unlock the phone and authenticate App and iTune store purchases, was introduced. The camera was also updated with a larger aperture and a LED flash optimized for different color temperature.
